A new year marks the start of new beginnings and new experiences. With 2023 around the corner, The Wharf has started preparing for the big night. While drinks at any gathering are a must, champagne lights up occasions like no other liquor and is the mascot of every toast that has ever been raised at any event. What better way to step into the new year than raising your glasses full of exotic champagnes to a heartfelt toast at The Wharf?
We don’t know about your new year's resolutions, but this new list of champagnes will surely be on your notes throughout the year.
1. Egly Ouriet, Brut Rose, Ambonnay, NV, RM: Produced in Ambonnay, France, the resting period for an Egly Ouriet is three years, which means these wines are stored for three years for the flavor and tastes to be developed before they are out in the market for sale. The alcohol percentage of this champagne is 12.5, and the fermentation happens organically without any yeast addition.
2. Paul Bara, Annonciade, Grand Cru, Bouzy, 2006, RM: First produced by Paul Bara in the year 2006, the various markers of the soil in Bouzy give the wine a fruity mouthfeel without diluting the distinctive features of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, from which the most elegant combinations are created. At The Wharf, Paul Bara champagne is on the top of the list when it comes to complementing grand cayman food.
3. Dom Perignon, P2, Epernay, 2003, NM: Known for its process of evaluation, this champagne brings a taste that is extensive, precise, and vibrant to the table. The champagne is rested for 13 years, and the drink is a homage to Dom Perignon, known as the spiritual father of champagne. Champagne gains a more vital configuration through an in-depth integration.
4. Louis Roederer, Cristal, Reims, 2012, NM: Stored for six years on yeast and an additional eight months in bottle. Made in Reims, France, Cristal is the flagship cuvée from Louis Roederer. Created in 1876, it was formed of Grands Crus from the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs.
5. De Venoge, Louis XV, Brut, Epernay, 2006, NM: It results from an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, made exclusively from grapes grown in villages classified as Grand Cru: Verzenay and Bouzy for Pinot Noir and Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger for Chardonnay. Harvest 2006 and aging on its yeasts for nine years with a final dosage of 6 g/l- making it a Brut.
